Tuesday, October 28 at 7:00pm, Robert Barrons, KB8SVJ will present and overview and step look at how to implement Winlink Radio Email System in your shack.
WinLink is a global communication system that leverages amateur radio and government-authorized stations to provide reliable radio email services, especially in areas where internet connectivity is unavailable. This network, which is entirely managed by licensed amateur radio volunteers, facilitates the exchange of emails (including attachments), position reports, weather updates, and important bulletins. Its standout feature is its ability to function independently of the internet, making it a vital tool for emergency and disaster communications. WinLink relies on a network of smart radio relays that automatically connect licensed operators across both amateur and government radio frequencies, ensuring seamless communication even in the most challenging environments.
The October meeting will be held at the New Approaches Center, 5123 North Royal Drive, Traverse City, MI 49686.
Bob’s presentation will also be on ZOOM. Meeting information and credentials to follow.
